Cultural Arts
The YMCA of Long Island provides opportunities for children and adults to explore new skills and talents on the road to developing a strong spirit, mind and body.
Welcome to Y Arts and Humanities, a core program area of YMCA of the USA since 1998. Over the years, the range and scope of Y Arts programming have grown dramatically and today, more than 1,100 YMCAs report to be arts-friendly. The YMCA is gaining recognition as a safe, accessible and quality-driven place where kids and adults can learn to paint, write, sing, act or even make a film. It is also becoming the place where innovation in the arts and community building is taking shape, with a special focus on youth. Look here for information about the programs, leaders, initiatives, guidelines and practices that make up Y Arts and Humanities.
YOUTH ARTS
We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Through the arts, the Y kids are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that help all students develop a unique understanding of the world around them. Our dance, drama, music, art and writing classes give kids the confidence, dexterity, creativity, critical thinking and social skills needed to grow in to a happy, healthy adult in the future.
