Aquatics

The YMCA is America’s #1 Swim Teacher!

The YMCA Aquatics program is designed to teach water safety, stroke development, water sports and games, rescue techniques and personal growth. Programs are divided by age and skill level. Advancing to the next level is dependent on the child’s completion of required skills and development. Children often require taking a class multiple times in order to develop and refine their skills to the point where they are ready to progress to the next swim level.

Please review the following Pool Rules to make your swim session the best it can be!

All children must be toilet trained to participate in aquatic programs. Swim diapers may be purchased at the front desk.
Showers are mandatory for everyone entering the pool. Please have your child shower and use the restroom before class begins.
Swimming without a lifeguard on duty for the pool you are using is prohibited. Please wait until your class begins and the instructor is in the water to enter the water.
Parents may observe only the first and last classes of the session. For any other classes, they will not begin until all parents have left the pool area. Please drop off and pick up your child during the first and last few minutes of your class time.
Swim caps are mandatory for all lap pool swimmers. Goggles, hair ties (long hair must be pulled back) and swim caps are strongly recommended for children and available for purchase at the front desk.
No food, gum or drink allowed in the pool area. Glass containers are not allowed in the pool area.
All adhesive bandages must be removed and discarded prior to entering the pool area.
Street shoes are not allowed on the pool deck.
