Lap swim should be an orderly, continuous swim. In order to receive full benefit and enjoyment from lap swim, it is important that all participants respect other swimmers and abide by the following rules:
- Choose a lane that matches your skill and speed – slow or fast. If unsure, ask the lifeguard for assistance.
- When three or more people are in a lane you must circle swim.
- Slower swimmers must allow faster swimmers to pass.
- No standing at the end of the lane. If you need to rest, stand along side the lane or sit on the wall.
- No person under 16 is permitted in Adult Lap Swim unless registered for the Lifeguard Training Program or has approval in designated areas.
- Individual exercising is permitted during Adult Lap Swim in designated areas.
- Lifeguard approval is needed to swim with a snorkel, mask or fins.
