Y Dance Classes




Little Ballerinas
(Ages 2 1/2 by December 2014)
Creative expression and motor skills development. 
Parent participation required until child can separate comfortably.
Dress-Leotard and tights, any color. Ballet shoes. 
Pre-School Combo for 3's

(Ages 3 by December 2014)

Introduction to ballet, tap and creative expression.
Dress- Leotard and tights, any color. Tap and Ballet shoes. 

Pre-School Combo for 4's

(Ages 4 by December 2014)

Introduction to ballet, tap and creative expression.
Dress-Leotard and tights, any color. Tap and Ballet shoes. 

Tap & Ballet Combo 1
(Ages 5 by December 2014)
Tap and Ballet class concentrates on bringing the
student beyond the basics.
Dress- Leotard and tights, any color. Tap and Ballet shoes.  
Junior Combo Tap & Jazz
(Ages 6-8)
Jazz is introduced building on ballet experinece and
graded tap technique system. More advanced techniques 
and combinations included. 
Dress- Jazz leotard or leggings, any color. Tap and jazz shoes. 
Jazz / Hip Hop 1
(Ages 6-8)
Includes strength & conditioning for dance. 
Feel the beat and syncopation of music through body movement
and dance moves set to popular music. 
Jazz / Hip Hop 2
(With prior experience)
Includes strength & conditioning for dance.

Lyrical Ballet 1
(Ages 6-8)
Focus on increasing controlled movement, flexibility, and musical
interpretation. Lyrical emphasizes coordination, grace and poise through
balance, control and strength. Students learn to create a story or express
the mood of music & lyrics through dance. 
Lyrical Ballet 2
(with prior experience)
Focus on increasing controlled movement, flexibility, and musical
interpretation. Lyrical emphasizes coordination, grace and poise through
balance, control and strength. Students learn to create a story or express
the mood of music & lyrics through dance.
Cheer Dance I & II
I (Ages 5-7)
II (Ages 8+)
For the intermediate student with prior dance or cheer experience. 
Focus on cheer technique including arm placement, jumps, stretching
& flexibility. 
Dance Workshops
(Recommendation required by dance coordinator)
For the advanced student. Small group workshops allow for
individualized attention and instruction. Student must be currently
enrolled in at least one other Y dance class to be eligible to
participate.  
Adult Tap/ Jazz
(Ages 16+)
A high energy class designed for the beginner with little
or no prior tap or jazz experience. Focus on stretching,
conditioning, proper placement and technique.
