Sports

The Y offers and wide variety of co-ed sports and physical education 
programs for children. Programs emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship
with a vision of helping children develop self-confidence and self-esteem.
Most classes are one hour and meet in the 2nd floor gymnasium
(excluding karate).

Pee Wee All Star Sports
(Ages 3-5 w/o parent)

Minor League and Major League All-Star Classes are weekly
instructional sports classes teaching new skills in a non-
competitive atmosphere. Each week children will learn a
different sport with both instruction, simulated game play,
and free play. Classes are held in 2nd floor gymnasium and
include instruction in hockey, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, football,
volleyball, among others.
Minor League All stars (Ages 3–4)             
Major League All stars (Ages 4–5)
Co-Ed Little League Starter Class
(Grades K-1)

Take me out to the ball game! This is a preparatory
program for the youngster getting ready for Little League
Baseball focusing on the fundamentals of baseball, ie:
throwing, catching, hitting, positioning, etc.
All Sports Sampler
(Grades K-3) 

Class provides an opportunity to try a wide variety of sports
with basic instruction in a fun-filled, relaxed atmosphere.
This class is designed to encourage children to explore new
activities such as baseball, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, football,
volleyball and much more!
Co-Ed Youth Basketball
(Grades 1-4)

This class focuses on skill development, strategy, and
sportsmanship. Participants are introduced to the rules
and regulations of basketball. The first half of the program
focuses on instruction and skill development while the second
half of program incorporates team play and modified games.
Youth Karate
(Ages 7-15) 

Participants are introduced to Shotokon Karate (Empty Hand).
Students will learn basic skills and concepts such as blocks,
kicks, punches, Kata, and falling. Students are to purchase
uniform and will be placed in different skill levels. 

**Intermediate students must receive instructor’s
permission to move up.
Co-Ed Basketball Intramurals
(Grades 5-6)  

This class is a great addition to our popular instructional
class with an emphasis on playing the game. Focus is on
a specific skill within the game every week.
Volleyball Training Class
(Ages 10-18)

This class is designed to teach the tactics and skills of
volleyball. The instructor will focus on the rules and
techniques of volleyball, as well as directing players in
a competition. This class helps young players develop
character, sportsmanship and team work while learning
in a safe and fun atmosphere.
