              Off-Site After School Child Care
 
The YMCA is proud to provide a NYS licensed Before and After School Childcare Program for the children and parents of the Port Jefferson, and Mount Sinai School Districts. Our program is open to any student currently enrolled in kindergarten through 5th grade in these districts.

Our before care programs begins at 7:00am and runs until dismissal to class (9:00am).   Our after school care program starts with dismissal from class (3:00pm) and runs until 6:00pm.  Our two programs are ON-SITE at their respective elementary schools. This allows the children to be active in school programs. The YMCA program includes activities such as arts and crafts, organized sports, free time and outdoor activities. Children are provided a snack and help with their homework.

The staff is well trained and supervised by YMCA professionals. The children are able to interact with other age groups and are encouraged to use the YMCA Character Values of Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Honesty in their daily activities.

Registration is ongoing but space is limited and based on a ten-month period. Please be aware that each district may have specific programs and hours that are not mentioned here. Please ask about additional offerings that are available through the YMCA at your school.
