Child Watch


As a service to our valued members, the Patchogue Y Child Watch Program provides on-site child care for your family while enjoying our facility. Our goal is to provide a positive experience in a safe and secure environment during your visit to our Y.  We offer interesting and inviting age-appropriate activities implemented by our warm and fun staff members.

Child Watch Hours:
        

        Monday – Friday:              8:30am – 1:00pm    &    4:00pm – 8:00pm
        Saturday:                         7:30am – 1:30pm                   
Sunday:                           8:30am – 12:30pm     
 
Rules and Regulations:


1.      You must be a member of the Patchogue Y and MUST REMAIN ON THE PREMISES while your child is in Child Watch.

2.     Cost is $2.00 an hour. You must pay at the welcome center before leaving your child in Child Watch. You must submit your receipt to the Child Watch staff in order for them to sign you in.

3.      There is a two hour limit on Child Watch. Two hour blocks cannot be consecutive.

4.      The Child Watch Center cares for children starting at 6-months old – 12yrs.

5.      Parent must see Child Watch staff to sign child in and out. 

6.      Whoever signs their child into child watch MUST sign them out. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!

7.      Please inform staff where you will be in the building in case they need to contact you.

8.      Please change your child prior to bringing them to Child Watch. Staff CANNOT change diapers or undress children to use the bathroom. If need arises the staff will find the parent to do so.

9.      Child Watch is on a first come first serve basis. There is a maximum of twelve children.

10. Snacks are not allowed in Child Watch. Please feed your child prior to dropping them off. If your child seems fussy or appears hungry we will get the parent to evaluate.

11. Please label any items (coats, hats, bags, etc...) that your child may bring to child watch. First and last name.

12. We discourage any personal toys and cannot be responsible for any lost or broken toys. Any toy weapons or money are NOT allowed in the room.

13. Children who are sick are not permitted in the Child Watch room. If your child is too sick to attend school they will not be allowed into Child Watch.

14. Staff will not administer medication.

15. We recognize that each child has a unique personality and disposition. We will do our best to work with every child. In the case of repetitive unsafe behavior it will be up to the Program Director to decide if Child Watch privileges will be suspended. 
The Patchogue Y reserves the right to modify Child Watch Rules at its discretion to ensure the safety of all children, members, and staff.
