Lap swim should be
an orderly, continuous swim. In order to receive full benefit and
enjoyment from lap swim, it is important that all participants respect
other swimmers and abide by the following rules:
Choose a lane that matches your skill and speed - slow or
fast. If unsure, ask the lifeguard for assistance.
When three or more people are in a lane you must circle
swim.
Slower swimmers must allow faster swimmers to pass.
No standing at the end of the lane. If you need to rest,
stand along side the lane or sit on the wall.5. No person under 16 permitted in
Adult Lap Swim unless registered for the Lifeguard Training Program or has
approval from the Director.
Individual exercising is permitted during Adult Lap Swim
times with lifeguard approval in designated areas.
Lifeguard approval is needed to swim with a snorkel, mask
or fins.
Follow the lifeguards directions.
He/she may move you to a faster or slower lane at his/her discretion.
POOL INFORMATION
CREDIT POLICY
Program fees are non-refundable.
Credit will be provided for medical reasons only that result in absence of at
least four (4) consecutive weeks. The medical reason must be documented by a
physicians note. The
YMCA must be notified prior to the end of the session. Program directors may
issue credits on a case by case basis.
To apply for a credit, a Credit Request Form is available at the front desk.
All credits are subject to a 10% service charge, unless otherwise stated.
Because of space limitations and concerns for safety, there are no make-ups in
Youth Aquatic programs.
POOL RULES
(General) YMCA PROHIBITS USE OF
CELL PHONES IN THE LOCKER ROOMS, POOL AND FITNESS AREA.
The State regulates that a cleansing shower be taken before entering the pool.
No oils, lotions or perfume should be used prior to entering the pool.
Employees and members should be aware of swim schedule classes. Lap swim and
open swim begin and end promptly.
No playing on the ladders.
No spitting or nose blowing in the pool.
No running on pool deck.
No horseplay.
No jumping or diving in the shallow end.
Children in floatation devices must be accompanied by an adult in the water. NO
inflatable floatation devices permitted.
No shoes, food or drink allowed in pool area.
No flips, cannonballs, jack knives, back dives or back jumps.
Please return all equipment.
Bathing suits are required. No cut-offs, leotards or gym-shorts.
Persons with communicable diseases, open cuts or sores with or without bandaid
covering not allowed in pool.
Children 9 years of age and under need to be accompanied by an adult in the
pool.
No cameras and videos allowed.
No disposable diapers. Swim diapers must be worn if child is not completely
toilet trained.
