ADULT EXERCISE/INSTRUCTIONAL SWIM CLASSES

Members who choose to take Adult Water Exercise classes on a drop in basis will be charged a $15 walk in fee.

Adult Swim Instruction

Instruction designed for the very beginner to the most advanced swimmer, for ages 18 and up. Instruction occurs in small groups and is individualized to meet each students needs and goals.

Arthritis Aquatic Program (AFYAP) (45 minutes)

The arthritis aquatic program is a cooperative program of the YMCA of the USA and the Arthritis Foundation.
The arthritis aquatic class is a series of gentle movements to help maintain range of motion, strengthen the muscles and the joints and enhance overall fitness. It is not necessary to know how to swim in order to participate in this class. You don’t even have to get your hair wet!

Water Slimnastics (1 hour)

This comprehensive program offers an effective physical workout using the waters natural therapeutic qualities, buoyancy, and resistance to trim, and tone your body as it refreshes and relaxes you emotionally. It provides an overall toning and cardiovascular workout. It stretches and strengthens every muscle, and because it is also aerobic it builds a stronger heart.

Each class is one hour and does not require swimming ability.

Aqua Jog (1 hour)

People with knee, ankle, back problems or shin splints, and perfectly healthy individuals have discovered the advantages of aqua jogging. Run and tone muscles without joint stress. This class contains a deep water component. Floatation will be provided as
needed. Each class is one hour.

Senior Shape-Up (1 hour)

Movement and calisthenics exercise in the pool using water resistance to enhance strength, flexibility, and muscle tone while providing an excellent cardiovascular work out. Each class is one hour and does not require swimming ability.

Water Workout (45 minutes)

A fun way to fitness! Cardiovascular training and muscle fitness in the pool. Each class is 45 minutes and does not require swimming ability.

Adult Swim Workout

For the swimmer wishing to advance his/her technique. Increase endurance, perfect strokes and increase speed. Class will take place in 1- 2 lap lanes. Swim background is required.

Power Water Walking

This effective cardiovascular workout uses a variation of walking to strengthen and tone muscles. Resistance equipment may be used to increase workout. It is not necessary to know how to swim to participate in this class.

Adult Swim Stroke Clinic

For those wishing to improve technique and efficiency. This is a great class for swimmers and Triathletes and for those who love to swim but have never been taught the proper technique.

Special price discount for multiple Aquatic Exercise classes. Take 2 Aquatic Exercise classes in the same session and get a third class in that session for free! All classes must be taken by the same member.

TRI TRAINING PROGRAM

Tri Training is for the beginner and intermediate triathlete that is looking to get ready for the triathlon season. This eight week program will challenge all levels of triathletes focusing on swimming, spinning and running.
