Glen Cove, NY (April 10, 2024) – The YMCA of Long Island proudly announces the appointment of three distinguished individuals to its corporate board, marking a significant stride in the organization's ongoing commitment to community enrichment and leadership excellence. With a steadfast dedication to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the YMCA of Long Island warmly welcomes Sandip, Matt and Lance to its esteemed team of directors.

Sandip Singh, Real Estate Entrepreneur

With 30 years of experience across real estate, management and strategic consulting roles, Sandip is a trusted leader whose mission is to help organizations and communities grow.  Recently, he helped attract AvalonBay Communities to build 338 new residential units in Amityville.  He serves on the Board of Directors at The Brunswick Hospital Center (146 bed acute-care psychiatric hospital), Board of Trustees for The Windward School (serves 900+ children with dyslexia) and is a Long Island Trustee of the Energeia Partnership Class of 2022. 

 Matthew Aboff, Owner and Operator of Aboff’s Paints

Matt is a fourth-generation owner and operator of Aboff’s Paints, who have proudly served Long Island and the New York region for 95 years. Aboff’s is one of the country’s largest independent paint suppliers, with 32 convenient locations. They offer expert advice, quality products, and superior service for residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects. Matt’s dedication to giving back to the Long Island community has seen him take up leading roles with many charitable and community organizations including the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, The Energeia Partnership, and the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society.

 

Lance P. Burke, EVP & Chief Financial Officer at Hanover Bank

As Executive Vice President—Chief Financial Officer for Hanover Bank, Lance is a part of the Bank’s leadership team who assists in the financial management and strategic planning for the Bank. With over 25 years of banking experience, he has previously worked with Bridge Bancorp Inc. (BNB) and New York Community Bancorp, Inc. Lance has always been a dedicated supporter of youth development, healthy living and takes his social responsibility very seriously. He previously served as an Executive Board Member of the Suffolk County Boy Scouts, which is just one of the many causes to which Lance devoted his time and talent.
